PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Our principal consultants have had key roles on the following projects:

DEPARTMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING AND NATURAL RESOURCES

Cooks River Foreshore Improvement Program: Coordination of a $4 million funding program to enhance the foreshore environment of the Cooks River, NSW. Achievements in this project stemmed from a successful program of capacity building and community engagement.
Water Sharing Plans: Development of a hypothesis-driven method for assessing and reporting against performance indicators for unregulated water sharing plans in NSW.
Strategic Budget Reallocation Method: Created a priority-setting process for water monitoring projects that was subsequently used by DIPNR to set priorities and cost allocation for most soil, vegetation and water management activities within the department.

PLANNING NSW

Compensatory Wetlands Policy: A policy prepared in relation to SEPP 14 - Coastal Wetlands.
Better Subdivision Design: Guidelines prepared to educate developers in best practice environmental and social design.

DEPARTMENT OF LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION

Senior Wetlands Advisor: Established and coordinated an interdisciplinary wetlands advisory group responsible for reporting to NSW Government Ministers. Also developed a state-wide wetland community funding program, conducted workshops and developed information to support rural property owners in their on-farm wetland management activities.

DEPARTMENT OF URBAN AFFAIRS AND PLANNING

Coordination of Natural Resource SEPPs: Management of SEPP 14 - Coastal Wetlands, SEPP 19 - Urban Bushland, SEPP 26 - Littoral Rainforest, SEPP 44 - Koala Habitat Protection and environmental REPs, involving site assessment, policy interpretation, environmental impact assessment and policy development.

ROADS TRAFFIC AUTHORITY

Roadside Biodiversity and Fire Management: Provided a guiding document to assist the RTA in best management of roadside biodiversity whilst complying with the new bush fire legislation.
